Understanding Your Support at Home Costs
The service prices shown on this page are the amounts charged for delivering the relevant service. They are not necessarily the amount that a participant will personally pay.
A participant’s contribution can depend on:
- The type of Support at Home service
- Their income and assets assessment
- Their pension or Commonwealth Seniors Health Card status
- When they were approved for aged care
- Any applicable “no worse off” arrangements
- Whether the service is classified as clinical, independence or everyday living support
Services Australia determines applicable participant contribution rates. My Help Services does not decide a participant’s government contribution percentage or guarantee that a particular service will be funded.
Providers must set prices that are reasonable, transparent and clearly explained. Support at Home pricing guidance

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Support at Home cost in Melbourne?
The cost depends on the service, booking time, travel distance and applicable weekend or public-holiday rates. My Help Services’ weekday rates start from $80 per hour for listed everyday living services. The amount personally payable may be different because Services Australia determines applicable participant contributions.
Are Support at Home services free?
Not every service is automatically free. Approved clinical supports are fully government funded, while participant contributions may apply to independence and everyday living services. The applicable contribution depends on the participant’s circumstances and government rules.
Does My Help Services charge a separate administration fee?
The published price should show the complete price for delivering each service. Before publishing this answer, My Help Services should confirm internally whether any separate amount can apply under its service agreements.
Is personal care included under Support at Home?
Personal care may be available when it is included in the participant’s assessed Support at Home plan. From 1 October 2026, the Australian Government will fully fund approved personal care services, meaning participants will not pay a personal care contribution.
Are weekend Support at Home rates higher?
Yes. Saturday, Sunday and public-holiday prices are higher because of additional staffing and employment costs. The relevant price should be explained and agreed before the service begins.
Can I choose which services I receive?
Participants should be involved in decisions about their services. However, services must align with assessed needs, approved supports, available funding and the service agreement.
Do you provide Support at Home services across Victoria?
My Help Services supports participants across Melbourne and eligible regional Victorian locations. Service availability and travel arrangements should be confirmed for the participant’s address.
Can the Support at Home prices change?
Prices may be reviewed. Participants should receive clear information about proposed changes, and any change must be managed in accordance with the service agreement and applicable aged care requirements.
